“Find happiness at work or you won’t be happy.” Christopher Columbus

In general, we spend more time at work than at home. Our job is a fundamental part of our lives that spans a long time. For this reason we must be comfortable with the tasks we perform, feel good within the organization and most importantly, be happy.

According to a survey conducted by Gallun, only 15% of the population is satisfied with their job. This survey reflects a real problem in our society, unhappiness at work. In relation to the Christopher Columbus’ quote, we know that unhappiness at work will affect our happiness in general.

At Playspace we want our colleagues to be happy and we fight together to adapt to new changes and be able to advance satisfactorily. Right now we are in a new and complicated situation, where we will not be able to move forward if we do not adapt to the changes.

4-day workday

We want our colleagues to be happy in their work and as you know, the month of July we experience the 4-day workday to evaluate new work methodologies and study their effects. A week ago we conducted a survey of the entire company and we decided to share the results with all of you.

Currently, at Playspace, 41 talented people are working. 38 people responded to the survey, with 92% participation. In general we can say that this methodology has been a success with 86.8% satisfaction. 92.1% of the participants consider that their mood has increased positively. In addition, we highlight as positive that 94.7% say that their colleagues have fulfilled the tasks and objectives.

The following graphs show the results of other variables studied:

The last part of the survey was prepared so that colleagues could share their experiences with us. Although the results are very positive, some people have found this methodology more difficult and they have told us different things “I have had more stress doing the tasks” and “I expected more with a Friday off, in the end we usually enjoy Fridays because we finished at 14 ”.

On the other hand, different positive opinions have been repeated such as:

  • I am happier because I have more time to disconnect
  • I have more energy to start Monday
  • I am happy with the company for carrying out this test
  • The job has been the same with one day less, even better

In conclusion, we can say that the 4-day workday methodology is highly valued by our workers, in fact 57.9% prefer to have a lower salary and 3 days off per week.
